Lucariello is a completely unique tomato variety for the Agro-Sarnese Nocerino area, i.e. the same area where San Marzano tomatoes can be grown. The tomato itself is a hybrid between Piennolo and tomatoes from the Nocerino area. These tomatoes are widely used on pizzas where the tomatoes are the focus, but are also common in pasta dishes. Slice up the tomatoes and put on the pizza with buffalo mozzarella and olive oil afterwards, that's it.
