Speck is an air-dried ham that is a real treat. It comes from the northern Italian region of Alto Adige (South Tyrol), where the ham is smoked mildly and matured slowly. What you get is a hit with an intense but also round flavor and balanced saltiness.

Reclas Speck is our favorite. Recla is a family-owned producer based in the Val Venosta valley, where they still work according to the old motto: a little salt, a little smoke and a lot of fresh air. The ham is seasoned according to the family's secret recipe, carefully smoked with beech wood and left to mature for over 22 weeks. It has a really good taste and a nice texture.

Speck is extremely good on a charcuterie board, sandwiches or just on its own. Of course it's also great on pizza, but it may not be super traditional. But it doesn't have to be :)

Ingredients

Pork, salt, spices, dextrose, aromatic plants, preservatives: sodium nitrite, beech smoke.
Naturally free from gluten and dairy products.
