Remember that when filling the volcano lighter, do it in batches according to the movie. The container is quite large and if you do it this way, the gas will not freeze. After filling, you should not light it for about 20 minutes. If it starts to drip outside, it is full to the brim or you have held in too long and the gas has frozen. If you still fill it for too long, the lighter may act strangely and then you have to let it sit overnight so everything thaws. That's how gas works, you could say.
