Friarielli

Friarielli is a pretty unique vegetable specifically from the Naples region. It's often also called wild broccoli, and it comes from the same plant as the slightly more known Cimi di Rapa, but here only the top part of the plant is used.

One of the most popular pizzas in Naples is Salsiccia e Friarielli, where this vegetable is simply combined with some salsiccia. 

Friarielli is really yummy crunchy and it tastes quite like broccoli, but it's still different somehow. You'll have to try it yourself :) Then you can cook it in many different ways to influence the taste and texture. More about friarielli can be read here in our friarielli guide.
